Yesterday I went for a walk, going through Old Town to the Jewish quarter. I got lost on the way, but I found a lolly shop!
Yes, I bought lollies. Lots of lollies... |
As I wandered around, I found a Bohemian specialty.
Like a doughnut/pastry thing - very nice
They were cooking on rods over coals |
I saw the astronomical clock in the Old Town square, and I saw it on the hour - they're right, it is disappointing.
Turns out you can't see what happens from this angle |
The most important thing I did today (hence the blog title) was finding the plaque for Karl JanouĊĦek.
I was very excited to find this |
I wandered around trying to get to Lesser Town, got lost...
There's ivy on everything in Europe |
I got bored with getting lost so I went back to the hostel. I walked over the Charles Bridge - I won't make that mistake again! So many people walking so slowly, so if you're using the bridge to get somewhere in a hurry, you will be stuck. But the bridge was lovely - covered in stalls and statues.
The view from the bridge looking... south? |
Couldn't get a photo without people in it |
No idea what this represents |
Looking... west? towards Lesser Town |
Black angels |
Looking back towards Charles Bridge |
I had a lazy night in preparation for leaving this morning. Next time you'll hear from me, I'll be in Slovakia!
